Button it!

Tell me this. Why can't you un-press a floor button in a lift?

On several occasions recently i have got into the lift at work and pressed the 2 button rather than the 3 button.

You should simply be able to press the 2 button again and the light goes off meaning that the lift won't stop at floor 2.

Surely we can have buttons that do this?

Can't we?

Imagine you get in a lift on the ground floor and want to up to the second. I get in on the first and want to go to the third and don't want to waste time waiting for your stop. I unpress your button. How cross would you be? Enormously cross, I'd bet.

To quote Pet Shop Boys 'You've got a heart of glass or a heart of stone
Just you wait 'til I get you home' no no no, what i meant was 'you've got the brains, i've got the looks, let's make lots of money'.....although i did flip the brains and looks bit. You are brilliant!

You should take the opportunity to visit the exceptional 2nd floor bathrooms and then take the stairs for the remaining floor, feeling good about yourself for 'having gone to the loo before you left' AND taken a whole floor off your carbon footprint.

It's all about how you look at it.
You say 'we need a better button' I say 'we need a better banana'!
